Second offering at Sanjusangendo Temple to the guardian deity Ahura Mazda, Kyoto

A second offering to one of the 28 guardian deities, Ahura Mazda, at Sanjusangendo (三十三間堂, Sanjūsangendō) famous for its 1001 statues of Kannon, the goddess of mercy. The temple is Japan's longest wooden structure and was founded in 1164 and rebuilt a century later after the original structure had been destroyed in a fire.

No photos are allowed inside the temple, please visit the temple website for images of the statues. This was an indescribably awesome experience.
